This pole-to-pole journey offers unparalleled wildlife diversity. In the Arctic: polar bears, beluga whales, walruses, Arctic foxes, and seabirds. In the south: multiple penguin species (including 450,000+ King Penguin pairs in South Georgia), elephant seals, leopard seals, humpback whales, orcas, and countless seabirds including albatross. Wildlife viewing opportunities from Zodiacs, kayaks, the ship’s decks, and your private veranda.
Seabourn Venture carries two custom-built submarines that take small groups of guests beneath the surface to witness marine ecosystems firsthand. One submarine dive per guest is included with the Grand Expedition fare—an exclusive offering for this historic voyage. Dives are subject to weather and sea conditions.
Seabourn provides a comprehensive packing guide. A commemorative custom Polar Parka is included with your voyage. You’ll want layered clothing for variable conditions (temperatures can range from mild to well below freezing), waterproof outer layers, warm base layers, and comfortable walking shoes for excursions. The ship has heated wardrobes in every suite for drying expedition gear.
